Special Christmas Giveaway!!!

It's hard to believe that Nepenthe Press was launched by Elijah and myself in January 24, just twelve months ago! Since then we haven't stopped working other than a brief two week break to welcome our son Jethro into the world, what a year!

We have seen the publication of our first title 'Unquiet Slumbers, An Anthology of Folk Horror Tales', which gave us the priviledge of working with some of the most talented and respected writers working in horror today. The book has been very well received by our customers, not to mention receiving recent critical attention (of which we unfortunately cannot speak, but to say it is VERY exciting and will be revealed in 2025.)

*The lettered edition will ship out January 2025

We are also coming towards the end of work on our long awaited edition of POE (thank you everyone for your patience regarding this title, as we ended up being a couple of months behind with it's production) it will be worth the wait and will ship out early 2025.

We have also just just seen our first letterpress title 'The Fall of the House of Usher' printed by the brilliant Ellen Bills and Pat Randle at Nomad Letterpress. This will be bound up January 2025 and ship out shortly thereafter.

So moving ahead to our exciting 2025 schedule!

Cold Hand in Mine by Robert Aickman is due for publication SPRING 2025. Jeremy Dyson has just turned in his excellent introduction and Elijah is working on the illustrations and book design.

NO 2 in our letterpress library of Weird Shorts after 'Usher' will be THE MUSIC OF ERICH ZAHN illustrated by the exceptional Vladimir Zimakov!! Our library of Weird Shorts will be an ongoing series of cornerstone short stories of Supernatural Fiction. These collectible and affordable editions will each be uniform in size and will be printed monotype, (hot metal hand-set type) and will feature letterpress-printed lino-cuts, woodcuts or etchings by leading artists. These shorts will showcase the true skills of traditional letterpress-printing, typography and printmaking.

We have now collected all the short stories for our second anthology

ALL OF THEM WITCHES which collects mainly new stories from some of the greatest writers working in horror. Pre-Orders will open March 2025 before turning our full attention to the 100th Anniversary Edition of the Iconic 'Metropolis' by Thea Von Harbou. Our first fully letterpress-printed edition!

NONE of this would be possible without the incredible support of you, our customers. Your continued support allows us the opportunity to collobrate with printers, bookbinders, authors and artists who's passion is equal to our own, and who help us realise our creative visions which we then inturn can present to you. To thank you for your support and to celebrate 2024 drawing to a close we have decided to do a very special giveaway.

We have created a questionaire which we hope will shine a spotlight on what it is that you book lovers and collectors want from Nepenthe Press, and it gives you the opportunity to make suggestions which will help shape future publications from us!

Simply copy and paste the questions below with your answers to nepenthepress@gmail.com
